Stress Monster

"I'm a stress monster!  I live it, I eat it for breakfast, it's mine!"

Maybe we don't say it like that, but we live it.  We consume stress like it's food--we horde it, we relish telling others how much stress we own.  We take a certain amount of pride in being too busy to see straight and too burned out to do something about it.  At some point, we look around and realize that everything we touch is sullied by stress.  Somehow, we let our lives get away from us again.

Then, we get consumed by guilt for being stressed.  It's a yucky cycle that we pass on to our coworkers, our families, our friends.

We're constantly struggling to get less stressed.  That may not be the right way to go about it!  A recent study suggests that some stress may help you live longer: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33482550/ns/health-behavior/t/chill-little-stress-may-help-you-live-longer/

The reason?  Stress kicks your body in repair mode.  You get frazzled and then you relax, you're body automatically starts rebuilding.  What a thought!  The key to equation is to rest after stress.

Here's a little relaxing video to start you rebuilding:
